SHAWNEE, OK – The Potawatomi Fire are excited to announce the signing of Corey Boyd (6-9, F/C) for the 2026 TBL season.
Boyd, who is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, spent last year with the Frederick Flying Cows and Kokomo BobKats. Boyd, who was named a TBL All-Star for the first time in his career in 2025, averaged 10.8 points on 55% shooting from the field. He also averaged 7.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Over the course of the season, Boyd also tallied six double-doubles
“I’m excited to coach Corey,” said Dannhoff. “When I first met him, he was a young player with limited professional experience coming right out of high school. Over the past few years, I’ve seen him grow as a player, a man, and a professional, and I’m excited to see that growth firsthand. Corey has always been very talented, and after following his career closely, I’m confident he can step in and contribute immediately.”
“Corey is very good player, and we saw the skill he possesses when he played against us in the 2023 TBL Finals with St. Louis,” said Fire general manager David Qualls. “He can be a force inside and will give us a strong presence down low. I’m excited for him to join us and to show our fans what he can do.”
This will be Boyd’s fifth season in TBL. Along with his time in Frederick and Kokomo last season, Boyd also played for Kokomo in 2024, was a member of the St. Louis Griffins in 2023, and played for the Enid Outlaws in 2022. Outside of TBL, Boyd has played professionally in Canada, Lithuania, Syria, and Zambia.
The Fire will begin their 2026 TBL season on March 5th against ADS Sentinels. Season tickets and individual tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the Fire website.
