ENID, OK – The Potawatomi Fire beat their in-state rival, the Enid Outlaws, on Friday night 126-97.

Enid got out to a fast start jumping out to an early 8-2 lead. The Fire quickly responded, going on a 16-3 run to take a seven-point lead. From there, the Fire never looked eventually winning by 29.

“Our guys showed their maturity tonight,” said Fire head coach Mark Dannhoff. “Enid got off to a hot start, but we never panicked. Enid is a good team and they never quit. We had to work hard to get this win and battle through some adversity. I was really pleased with the way we were able to do that.”

Fire guard Jahmal McMurray led all scorers with 21 points off the bench. He also registered three assists. Among the starters, center T.J. Maston led the Fire with 19 points and eight rebounds.

“I thought T.J. played really well tonight,” said Dannhoff. “Enid has a couple of bigs that do a lot of good things. T.J. was locked in and showed his skill. When he plays like he did tonight, he gives our offense an additional dynamic that makes us even tougher to stop.”

Beyond McMurray and Maston, two-time TBL MVP Chuck Guy finished with a 14 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and three steals as he once again filled up the stat sheet. Isaiah Wade also finished with 14 points and five boards before fouling out. Willie Warren finished with 13 points, five assists, two rebounds, and a pair of steals. Cam Williams scored 11 points to go along with four rebounds. Ricardo Artis II also finished with 11 points while he grabbed nine boards.

“This was a team win,” said Dannhoff. “We needed all 11 guys tonight to get this win. Considering this was the first night of a back-to-back, it was nice to get this win and get to play everyone a lot of minutes. The experience some of these guys coming off the bench in games like this will only make us better when we get to the end of the season and into the playoffs.”

With the win, the Fire are now 2-0 on the year. The win tonight was the Fire’s 23rd straight win overall, and their 59th win in the last 60 games dating back to the 2023 season.

Up next, the Fire will return home as they host the Muskogee Sky Kings on Saturday, March 15th. Tipoff from FireLake Arena is set for 7 PM.
