SHAWNEE, OK – The Midwest Conference Finals are set as the top seeded Potawatomi Fire (19-1, 2-0) will host the Logansport Iron Horses (14-8, 3-1) in the best of three series. Due to issues with Logansport’s home court, the Fire will host all of the conference finals games inside FireLake Arena in Shawnee, OK.
This is a matchup of two of the hottest teams in TBL. The Fire have won 15 in a row while Logansport has won eight of their last nine. This is also a matchup of two explosive teams. The Fire are second in TBL at 127.3 points per game while the Iron Horses are 10th in scoring at 118.1 points per game. The Fire have reached triple digits in all 22 games they have played while Logansport has scored at least 100 points in all but one.
The Fire made quick work of their in-state rivals, the Enid Outlaws, in the Central Division Finals. The Fire beat Enid 122-98 in Game 1 and then took down the Outlaws 157-89 in Game 2. The 68-point win by the Fire in Game 2 was the third largest win in team history.
Logansport has taken the long road to the Midwest Conference Finals. The Iron Horses finished third in the Upper Midwest Division in the regular season. They beat Kokomo in the play-in game on May 27th to set up a best of three series with the St. Louis Giffins in the Upper Midwest Division Finals. The Iron Horses beat St. Louis in Game 1 107-101 before falling in Game 2 113-103. Game 3 went down to the wire but Logansport prevailed 93-91 to eliminate the two-time TBL runners-up.
Game 1 is scheduled for Thursday, June 5th at 7 PM. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday, June 7th at 7 PM and Game 3, if needed, is set for Sunday, June 8th at 7 PM. All three games will be played inside FireLake Arena.
