SHAWNEE, OK – The 2025 TBL Finals are set, and history could be made once again as the two-time defending champion Potawatomi Fire (19-1, 6-0) will look for TBL’s first ever three-peat. Standing in their way is a newcomer to TBL, the Capital Seahawks (18-6, 6-0).
Both of these teams enter this series playing their best basketball of the season.
The Fire have won 19 straight and, for the most part, have dominated their opponents. Up to this point in the season, the Fire are outscoring their opponents 128.8 to 96.9, a difference of 31.9 points per game. In the postseason, that spread has only grown as the Fire are outscoring the opposition 138.0 to 103.5, a difference of 34.5 points per game.
While the Fire’s offense will grab the headlines, it’s their defense that has led the way. The Fire are top 10 in blocks (4.5), steals (11.8), and defensive rebounds (39.6) per game. The Fire are also holding their opponents under 42% shooting from the field and under 30% from behind the three-point line. Finally, the Fire are forcing their opponents into almost 19 turnovers per game and have forced at least 20 turnovers 15 times.
Capital enters this series winners of 11 straight and 13 of their last 15 dating back to the beginning of May.
The Seahawks come in averaging 108.4 points per game while giving up 102 points per game. As you’d expect, Capital has played several close games and they have found a way to win almost all of them. In games decided by nine points or less, Capital is 12-2 and are 4-0 in games decided by four points or less. Capital has consistently come up big in the clutch.
Not only is this a matchup of two great teams, there are also TBL superstars matching up in these Finals.
The Fire are led by guard Chuck Guy. Guy is arguably the most accomplished player in TBL history. He is the first player to score 2,000 career points and have 1,000 career assists. Guy currently sits just five points shy of 3,000 career points. Guy is also the reigning TBL MVP (2024), a former Defensive Player of the Year (2023), playoff MVP (2023), a 4x All-TBL First Team player (2020, 2022, 2023 & 2024), and a two-time All-Star.
Joining Guy on the Fire is Deshawn Munson. In his four years with the Fire he has also established himself as one of the best in the league. A former TBL MVP (2022), Munson is also a two-time playoff MVP (2023 & 2024), a two-time All-Star and 3x All-TBL Player (2022, 2023, & 2024).
Ricardo Artis II has seen his role change with the Fire this season. The reigning TBL 6th Man of the Year (2024), Artis II is now in the starting lineup and has made his presence felt. Artis II, who was All-TBL in 2020, has established himself as one of the premier two-way players with his ability to defend all five positions and score from all three levels.

For Capital, the Seahawks are led by guard Nasir Core. An All-Star this year with Tampa Bay, Core joined Capital late in the season but has established himself as the team’s leading scorer. Joining Core is another TBL All-Star in Andre Fox and All-Northeast Conference player Maurice Creek.
