SHAWNEE, OK – The Potawatomi Fire have signed Jahmal McMurray (6-0, G) for the 2026 TBL season. McMurray, originally from Topeka, Kansas, last played in The Basketball League (TBL) in 2024 with the Wichita Sky Kings.
“I am happy that Jahmal McMurray chose to sign with us,” said Fire general manager David Qualls. “He is a very good player and someone who caught our eye when we played against him. He’s a mature young man and a great player. I am very confident he will not only be great for us on the court but that he will also fit into our culture and the Potawatomi Fire community.”
This will be McMurray’s second season in TBL. In 2024, with the Wichita Sky Kings, McMurray led TBL in scoring at 32.9 points per game. That season, McMurray scored over 40 points four times and reached the 30-point mark in all but three games. He also averaged 5.9 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 2024 demonstrating his all-around game.
“I’m excited to have Jahmal join the Fire,” said Fire head coach Mark Dannhoff. “He’s a dynamic scorer who can make shots at all three levels and is equally comfortable playing on and off the ball. Jahmal is a talented, experienced player who I believe will provide depth to an already talented backcourt and add an extra scoring punch.”
Prior to his time in TBL, McMurray played across the globe. He started his professional career in the NBA G-League splitting time with the Long Island Nets and Texas Legends during the 2019-2020 season. Following the G-League, McMurray played professionally in Turkey (2020-2021), Dominican Republic (2022), and Belgium (2022-2023) before joining the Sky Kings in 2024. Last season, McMurray played professionally in Poland.
Prior to turning pro, McMurray played collegiately at the University of South Florida and Southern Methodist University.
The Fire will begin their 2026 TBL season on March 5th. Season tickets are on sale now. Individual game tickets will be on sale soon.
