Following the conclusion of their eighth season, The Basketball League (TBL) took time to recognize the best players, coaches, staff members, and teams in the league’s history. Not surprisingly, the Potawatomi Fire were well represented.

Among players, three current or former Fire players were named among TBL’s best.

Former Fire guard Deshawn Munson was named one of the league’s top eight players. As a member of the Fire, Munson won the 2022 TBL MVP award. He was also a member of three TBL championship teams (2023, 2024, and 2025), winning Playoff MVP in 2023 and 2024. Munson, who left the Fire prior to the 2026 season, is still the team’s all-time leader games played (113), points scored (2,213), rebounds (1,304), and field goals made (900). Munson is also second in Fire history in assists (807), steals (191), and free throws made (399).

Former Fire big man Paul Harrison was also among TBL’s best eight players of all-time. Harrison won the 2022 TBL title with the Shreveport Mavericks before joining the Fire for their championship seasons in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Over those four seasons, Harrison became the first ever two-time champion, three-time champ, and four-time champ in league history.

Finally, Chuck Guy was not just named one of TBL’s top eight players but was also recognized as the best player in TBL’s eight-year history. In Guy’s TBL career, he played for teams in Atlanta, Dallas, and Enid before joining the Fire. With the Fire, Guy won the TBL Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023 before winning the MVP award in 2024 and 2025, becoming the league’s first ever two-time MVP. Guy also won the Playoff MVP award in 2023. Beyond those awards, Guy has also been named to the All-TBL first team five times in his career. Beyond the awards, Guy is the first player in TBL history to score 3,000 career points and record 1,000 assists.

A member of the Fire, Guy is the team’s all-time leader in assists (1,158), steals (314), three-point field goals made (228), and free throws made (553). Guy is also second in games played (110), points scored (2,212), rebounds (627), and field goals made (704).

This past season Guy also recorded the first ever quadruple-double in league history finishing 33 points, 15 rebounds, a TBL-record 39 assists, and 10 steals in the Fire’s May 10th win over the Dallas Stampede.

The Fire honors extend beyond the players.

Fire head coach Mark Dannhoff was recognized as the best coach in TBL history. Dannhoff, who spent 2022 with the Enid Outlaws before joining the Fire in 2023, has a career record of 131-11 in TBL. With the Fire, Dannhoff has a record of 108-5, including a perfect 63-0 record at home inside FireLake Arena. Dannhoff has guided the Fire to four straight TBL titles and finished the 2024 and 2026 seasons undefeated. He was also named TBL Coach of the Year in 2023, 2024, and 2025 becoming the first coach to win the award multiple times.

Finally, among the individuals honored, David Qualls was named the best general manager in the league’s history. Qualls, who has overseen the Fire since their inception, has built the Fire into a TBL powerhouse. The Fire have made the playoffs all five seasons of their existence, including winning the TBL title the past four seasons.

Beyond the play on the court, Qualls has turned Fire basketball into a must-see event in Shawnee with high-class entertainment from the moment fans walk inside FireLake Arena. A big portion of that entertainment are the Potawatomi Fire Girls. The Fire Girls are one of the most accomplished dance teams in TBL history, winning the best dance team award in 2022 and 2025. Under Qualls’ direction, the Fire have also been recognized as having arguably the best live-stream broadcast in TBL.

All of these individual accomplishments, along with the success on the court, led TBL to name the Potawatomi Fire as the best organization over TBL’s first eight seasons. The Fire have won a league-high four TBL titles, with no other franchise winning more than one. They have an overall record of 129-13. They are 33-3 in the postseason and an astonishing 75-3 at home.

While no one truly knows what the Fire will do until they step on the court again, it is safe to say that through their first five years, the Fire have undoubtedly become the preeminent franchise in The Basketball League.
