MUSKOGEE, OK – It was another record setting performance for the Potawatomi Fire as they demolished the Muskogee Sky Kings 153-96 on Friday night. The 57-point margin of victory was the largest for the Fire this season and tied for the fifth largest in team history. The win was also the Fire’s 36th consecutive win tying the TBL record for longest win streak. Most importantly for the Fire, the win clinched the top seed in the Central Conference for the fourth straight season.
“I was really pleased with the way we played tonight, especially through the first three quarters,” said Fire head coach Mark Dannhoff. “Anytime you have as much time off as we did, you worry a little bit about rust. But I thought our guys were focused all week in practice and came out and played incredibly well tonight.”
Chuck Guy had another MVP-worthy performance finishing with 25 points, a team record 23 assists, six rebounds, and six steals. This was Guy’s seventh double-double of the season.
“Chuck has been so good for so long,” said Dannhoff. “He’s perfectly capable of scoring 30 to 40 points a night but he’d much rather get his guys going and you saw that tonight, especially early on.”
K.D. Moore led the Fire in scoring on the night with 29 points. He also grabbed 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.
Off the bench, Isaiah Wade continued his strong campaign for 6th Man of the Year finishing with 26 points and five rebounds.
Four other players finished with double-digit points for the Fire. Jahmal McMurray finished with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Cam Williams finished with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Ricardo Artis II finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Finally, Jay Hedgeman finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
