SHAWNEE, OK – Dominance was on display Saturday night inside FireLake Arena as the Potawatomi Fire beat the Enid Outlaws 157-89 to move on to the Midwest Conference Finals. The 157 points were a season high and the second most in a single game in Fire history. The 68-point margin of victory was their third largest margin of victory in team history.
“We played just a great all-around game,” said Fire head coach Mark Dannhoff. “I thought our energy was great the entire game and I thought we played with a lot of effort on both ends of the court. You know, our offensive numbers were really good, but it was our defense that won us this game.”
The Fire defense held Enid to just 37.2% from the field and to 18.5% from three. The Fire also forced Enid into 22 turnovers which turned into 27 Fire points.
Offensively, the Fire lit up the scoreboard shooting 56.2% from the field and 48.4% from three. The Fire were also 24-27 (88.9%) from the free throw line.
Individually, Chuck Guy led the Fire with 32 points, 27 of which came in the 3rd quarter. Chuck also had 6 assists, 3 rebounds, a steal and a block.
“When Chuck gets hot, it’s a lot of fun to watch,” said Dannhoff. “He, along with several other guys on this team, is capable of taking over a game and we saw him do that in the third quarter.”
Overall, eight players finished with at least 10 points. Deshawn Munson carried the Fire early in the game and finished with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Ke’Tarrious “K.T.” Bouchum led all bench players with 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists while Kam Williams had 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists off the bench.
