LITTLE ROCK, ARK – The Potawatomi Fire won their 17th game of the season on Friday night beating the Little Rock Lightning 125-113. The win was the Fire’s 18th consecutive win over Little Rock.
The Fire got off to another fast start and led Little Rock by 12 after the first quarter. The Fire were then able to extend that lead out to 15 at the end of the first half. The Fire built a lead as big 22 points but Little Rock came storming back eventually cutting the lead down to four with less than nine minutes to go.
“I was happy with the way our guys fought tonight,” said Fire head coach Mark Dannhoff. “Little Rock is a good team, and we knew they wouldn’t give up. They made us work for everything we got tonight and I’m happy to get out of here with the win.”
Reigning TBL MVP Chuck Guy led the Fire with 41 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals on the night.
“Chuck was outstanding again,” said Dannhoff. “He just does so much for us. He’s a great defender, sets up his teammates, and leads. He does so much that I think people forget he’s a great scorer as well. We needed his scoring tonight and he delivered like he always does.”
Joining Guy in double-figures were Isaiah Wade with 20 points and 3 rebounds and Jachai Simmons who finished with 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Also finishing in double-figures were Deshawn Munson who had 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists and Kam Williams who finished with 12 points.
