The Potawatomi Fire have re-signed Jaylen Mahone for The Basketball League’s upcoming 2025 season.

Mahone, a 6-2 guard from Brandon, Wisconsin, will be back with the Fire for his second season as a professional basketball player. Mahone, who was the Fire’s first round draft pick in the 2024 TBL Draft, appeared in 19 games during his rookie campaign.

“We are excited that Jaylen is back for another season,” said Fire General Manager David Qualls. “He’s a young player that we saw grow last season. He always had the right attitude and mindset in practice and you could see that help his game throughout the season. I’m excited to see the improvement he made and for him to play a bigger role for us this season.”

“We were excited to be able to draft Jaylen last season,” said Fire head coach, and two-time TBL Coach of the Year, Mark Dannhoff. “Throughout his rookie season, the minutes he earned and the daily challenge of practicing against the TBL’s best paid off immensely. He grew significantly on both ends of the court. He’s going to play a bigger role for us this season and we are excited to have him back.”

Last year, Mahone averaged 4.8 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. He showed a nice shooting touch as well, hitting 52.8% of his field goals, 36.4% of his three-point attempts, and 66.7% of his free throws.

This will be Mahone’s second professional season in TBL, both with the Fire. Prior to being drafted by the Fire, Mahone played collegiately at Ripon College in Wisconsin.

The Fire will begin their 2025 TBL season in late February or early March. Individual game tickets and season tickets will be on sale soon.
